CSAT Solutions is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill the role of a Computer Engineer II.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, debugging, and optimization of Flying Probe test programs for laptop and tablet platforms
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including test readiness, validation, and ramp support
- Analyze test and field failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance and calibration schedules for test equipment
- Create and update repair plans, work instructions, procedures, and troubleshooting documentation
- Provide technical support to engineering technicians and computer service operations
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing practices
- Track, analyze, and report internal and external KPIs; lead actions to improve yield, test coverage, and cycle time
- Collaborate on cross-functional projects across engineering, quality, and operations teams
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and applicable quality management systems
- Participate in stakeholder meetings and communicate technical status, risks, and progress effectively
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational and business needs
Skills, Education and Training
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
- 1–5 years of experience in hardware test, manufacturing, or repair engineering
- Experience developing, tuning, and maintaining machine and test profiles
- Hands-on experience with Flying Probe test systems (preferred)
- Strong ability to read and interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Proficiency with electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes and multimeters
- Solid problem-solving, data analysis, and root cause analysis skills
- Experience with process mapping and structured troubleshooting methodologies
- Working knowledge of boundary scan / JTAG
- Detailed understanding of computer systems and subassembly functionality
- Familiarity with ESD controls and electronics repair environments
- Proficient written and spoken English
- Intermediate Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting
- Strong time-management, organization, and multitasking abilities
- Exposure to Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles
Working Conditions and Essential Abilities & Functions
- Position is based at CSAT Solutions’ Houston facility.
- Requires standing, walking, and working in a production/repair environment for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Regular exposure to electronic components, ESD-protected areas, and repair tools.
- Standard Monday–Friday schedule with occasional overtime, optionally available by business needs.
